Questions

Before you register.

What's the minimum age?

There is not a formal minimum age. For climbers age 5 and under, the focus is more on time on the wall and having fun than formal technique or sending boulders.

What's the coach-to-student ratio?

A maximum of 1:7. Classes with more than seven students receive a second coach.

Do rental shoes come with every option?

Yes. Rental shoes are free on instruction days. On days outside class, rental shoes are $4.

Can I buy climbing shoes with EFA funds?

No. For the 2026–2027 year, shoes and other equipment are not covered by EFA.

My climber wants to compete. What's next?

Boulders & Brews also runs a youth Comp Team through USA Climbing. It is more intensive than the homeschool program and focuses on advanced technique, strength, and competition strategy. Climbers must complete a tryout to qualify.
